February 18, 2020 (Novato, California) ….Bella Notte, America’s original brand of home washable luxury bed linens, is pleased to introduce the Austin collection in midweight linen with a relaxed raw edge. Available in a Duvet Cover, Shams, Bed Skirt and Quilted Coverlet, each piece becomes softer over time. Bella Notte founder Kathleen McCoy on the inherent beauty of linen, “From the start, linen made from European Flax has always been our signature fabric due to its understated elegance and timeless appeal. With the new Austin collection, we’ve reimagined our breathable midweight linen in a slightly more structured design to compliment a variety of aesthetics, from casual minimalism to traditional romance. Crafted for versatility and easy living, this slightly heavier weight reveals an intricate weave and adaptable silhouette to stand alone or layer amongst texture.”
In addition to Austin, two new colors join the Bella Notte palette; Rouge and Honeycomb. Rouge is a soft pink in a pastel hue. Honeycomb is a golden tone, earthy, and warm. Kathleen adds “Dyeing silks, linens, and velvets in an array of proprietary hues is at the core of who we are and what inspires us. This season, we embraced our love of color introducing two hues that play perfectly off of our organic palette. Rouge, a blushing mid-tone pink, adds a hint of romance to your space, while Honeycomb is a neutral color, earthen and vibrant at once. These warm mid- tones layer beautifully with our cool blues and greens offering a more adventurous contrast option.” Bella Notte begins the artisanal dye process by hand-mixing a color palette and then garment dying each small batch of product to order. A commitment to conscious luxury insures only non-hazardous and non-toxic dyes are used. The alchemy of working in small batches with a local artisanal dye house, results in slight variances in color, creating one-of-a-kind linens.
In 1996, fashion-turned-bedding designer, Kathleen McCoy, began experimenting with excess rolls of silk and linen to create luxury home textiles that would be durable enough for life with her young children. The result was the first machine washable couture bedding for everyday living. While Kathleen continues to be the guiding visionary behind Bella Notte Linens, the company is a family endeavor. In 2018 Kathleen named her daughter, Taylor Batlin, partner and Brand Director, creating a multi-generational company. Bella Notte is dedicated to producing heirloom quality bedding all cut, sewn, and dyed in the San Francisco Bay Area. Bella Notte products can be found in retail locations across the country or purchased on bellanottelinens.com
