Sara Baldwin of New Ravenna Mosaics is featured in Luxe Magazine’s “Insider/First Person” section as a creative spirit. The magazine’s editors note, “Sara Baldwin, founder and creative director behind chic tile brand New Ravenna Mosaics, dishes on classic patterns to swoon for, cashmere throws to snuggle up to and tasting menus that leave little left to want.” There are four markers for the feature: Prepster Chic; Soft Spoken; Mussel Bound; and Ground Floor. In the latter, they quote Sara as saying, “Most of my time is spent in the studio designing custom mosaics for people all over the world. But of my favorite activities is to stop by our local D.C. area showrooms, such as Marble Systems, and meet with the staff and customers. There’s nothing better than direct feedback – let’s face it, you can’t design in a vacuum – and symbiotic relationships are the cornerstone of our best work. I’m a rock geek and a marble connoisseur, so I never tire of viewing stone in any format.”
As well as celebrating this mention in Luxe, we’re celebrating Sara Baldwin’s signature collection, Talya, today, which is available in local showrooms now. Talya is “Arabesque, intertwining; lacework in stone and marble. Fluid geometry defines the Talya Collection from Sara Baldwin Design exclusively for Marble Systems. Influenced by the extraordinary material culture and decorative artistic achievements of the Ottoman Empire, “Talya” references centuries-old traditional motifs while also feeling completely current.” The collection includes Rumi, Almas, Bosphorus, Constantine and Rubicon.
Talya was designed for Marble Systems. About the collection, they remark: “Marble Systems is please to introduce the Talya Collection, designed by Sara Baldwin. A beautiful, lyrical mix of water jet designs that are at home in the bath, kitchen or grand entry. The Talya Collection is a refined study of designs using marble and stone, intertwining into lacework and modern geometries. The collection is formal and casual, elegant and understated, with it’s minimal palette of greys and ivories. This soothing palette has nuances that make it easy to work with, and fits easily into any traditional or modern environment. Applicable for floors and wall treatments, medium to heavy traffic and suitable for wet environments as master baths and kitchens. Besides Field Tiles, Trims and Bull Nose are available.”
