July 15, 2021 (Novato, California) …. Bella Notte, America’s original brand of home washable luxury artisan bed linens, is pleased to introduce the Harlow collection, created from supple cotton velvet with silk linen charmeuse embellishments. Backed with Bella Notte’s signature linen, the Harlow coverlet is textured in quilted cotton velvet and framed in iridescent classic charmeuse binding. The Harlow throw blanket has two layers of cotton velvet bordered by a 1″ charmeuse raw edge giving this blanket comforting substance and an elegant drape. The Harlow sham, accent pillow, and 24″ square pillow all feature a ribbon of raw edged charmeuse along the gusset providing structure to these handcrafted accessories.
Leeta Steenwyk, Bella Notte’s design director explains her inspiration for Harlow. “This collection conjures up screen stars in their elegant velvets and bias cut silk gowns from the Golden Age of Hollywood. I have a gorgeous vintage velvet jacket well over 100 years old, which is still wearable. I can feel the history of this piece when I wear it and was inspired to bring that vintage story to a new collection. I wanted to create a cozy layer for the home that could offer comfort and still be elegant. I chose our cotton velvet for its plushness and gave Harlow a glamourous shimmer of charmeuse. By cutting the silk trims on the bias, it wraps beautifully on the edge of the coverlet and gives a subtle raw edge on the other pieces of the collection–reminiscent of my beloved vintage jacket with its tattered silk lining.”
In addition to Harlow, Bella Notte has introduced two new dye colors for fall, Moonlight and Fig. Moonlight is a mid-tone gray, created to commemorate Bella Notte’s 25th silver anniversary. It is a reflective tone that varies in luminosity depending on the absorption of the textile that is dyed. Fig is a rich purple-garnet tone that deeply saturates all Bella Notte’s fabrics, trims and threads. The two new colors bring the Bella Notte color palette to a total of 18 dyes.
Bella Notte begins the artisanal dye process by hand-mixing a color palette and then dyeing each small batch of product to order. A commitment to conscious luxury ensures only low-impact dyes are used. The alchemy of working in small batches with a local artisanal dye house, results in slight variances in tone, creating one-of-a-kind linens.
In 1996 Bella Notte became the first machine washable couture bedding for everyday living. This year marks their 25th Anniversary of producing heirloom quality artisan products, all designed, cut, sewn, and dyed in the San Francisco Bay Area. Bella Notte products can be found in retail locations across the country and on bellanottelinens.com. 415.883.3434
